National Day of Service for the Little Sisters of the Poor
Any City, Nationwide
Start Date: Mar. 23rd, 2016
Start Time: 6:00am - End Time: 8:00pm
On March 23rd, while the Supreme Court of the United States hears an important religious freedom case, women across the United States will stand in solidarity with one of the plaintiffs of the case–the Little Sisters of the Poor– by serving alongside them in their local homes.
The Little Sisters of the Poor have a mission of serving the elderly poor. After promising that the Little Sisters’ religious beliefs would be protected, the government created a new regulation requiring the Little Sisters to change their healthcare plan to offer services that violate Catholic teaching.
